Bimota KB399 showcased
Bimota has revealed a new middleweight sportbike called the KB399, combining Italian design with proven Japanese engineering.

The model is based on the platform of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR but receives significant upgrades in terms of components, materials and styling, positioning it as a more exclusive offering in the supersport segment.
At the heart of the KB399 is the same 399cc, liquid-cooled inline-four engine used in the ZX-4RR. The motor retains identical internal specifications, including a 57.0 mm bore, 39.1 mm stroke and a 12.3:1 compression ratio. Although Bimota has not officially revealed the final power figures, the engine produces around 80 PS at 14,500 rpm and 39 Nm of torque at 13,000rpm for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR. The KB399 comes fitted with a titanium exhaust system from Akrapovic as standard, which could slightly increase performance compared with the donor bike.
Chassis and suspension components have been upgraded to align with Bimota's premium positioning. The standard version of the KB399 is equipped with a fully adjustable 41 mm Showa SFF-BP upside-down fork at the front and a Showa BFRC-Lite rear shock. For buyers looking for a more track-focused setup, Bimota is also offering a higher-spec ES (Edizione Speciale) variant, which replaces the rear suspension with an STX46 unit from Öhlins. Braking duties are handled by radially mounted Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers, delivering high-performance stopping power.
Visually, the KB399 has been completely redesigned and adopts styling cues from the larger Bimota KB998 Rimini. The bodywork features sharper lines and integrated winglets that enhance the bike's aggressive look. The ES variant stands out further thanks to the extensive use of dry carbon fibre for the upper, side and lower fairings.
Bimota has also incorporated several billet aluminium parts across the motorcycle, including the triple clamps and steering stem cap. On the ES version, even the clip-ons and foot-peg assemblies are machined from billet aluminium to emphasise the bike's premium character.
Overall, while the KB399 shares its core mechanical base with the ZX-4RR, it is designed to be a more exclusive and limited-production machine. With upgraded hardware, lightweight materials and distinctive Italian styling, the new model aims to offer enthusiasts a more bespoke interpretation of Kawasaki's high-revving four-cylinder supersport.
