Vehicle manufacturers are struggling to meet deadlines due to the semi-conductor shortage but are still trying their best to stay in the race without the number being hampered. April 2022 was a decent month for car sales as well. Here's a list of the top 5 best selling cars for April 2022.

5) Maruti Vitara Brezza - 11,764 units

The Maruti Suzuki Brezza is no stranger to this list as it sold 12,439 in March 2022 and while for April 2022 sales were a little down, it still sold a commendable 11,764 units. The Maruti Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 104PS and 138 Nm of torque. It is offered with a five-speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission with Smart Hybrid technology.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift includes projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a new grille, new 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, LED tail-lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, auto-dimming IRVM and the SmartPlay infotainment system.

4) Hyundai Creta - 12,651

The Hyundai Creta is the favourite mid-size SUV in the country for a while now and its sales numbers speak for itself. The car sold 12,651 units in April 2022, up from the 10,532 units it sold the previous month.

The Hyundai Creta is available in 19 variants with three engine and gearbox options. The car sports an extremely stylish dashboard and the feature list includes auto headlamps, ambient lighting, an integrated air purifier, a Bose sound system with smartphone connectivity and wireless charging, powered mirrors, tyre pressure monitoring and BlueLink connectivity

3) Tata Nexon - 13,471

The Tata Nexon doesn't come in as any surprise on this list as it sold 13,471 units in April 2022 down from the 14,315 units it sold in March 2022.

The Tata Nexon is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 119PS and 170Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 109PS and 260Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit.

2) Maruti Ertiga - 14,889

The Maruti Ertiga has been a best selling car but never really made the cut in the top 5, let alone the second most sold car in the country in a month. The car sold 14,889 units in April 2022, almost double the 7,888 units it sold the month prior.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is available in four variant options. Mechanically, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is powered by the next-gen 1.5-litre K15C Smart Hybrid petrol engine which generates 103PS and 136.8Nm of torque. This engine is available in both five-speed manual and six-speed automatic transmission options.

1) Maruti Wagon R - 17,766

Not anywhere close to the 24,634 units it sold in March 2022, but the Maruti Wagon R does enough to secure the top spot for April 2022 by selling 17,766 units.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is available in four variant options. The dashboard is highlighted by a seven-inch Smart Play Studio with smartphone navigation and 4 speakers. The standard safety feature list includes – dual airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), front seat belts reminder, high-speed alert system and rear parking sensors.
