Bentley Continental GT Speed, the fastest production Bentley
Bentley is introducing its new flagship, the Continental GT Speed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2012. Touted to be the fastest production Bentley, the new GT boasts of a top speed of 329kmph and has a 6-litre twin-turbocharged 48-valve W12 engine. The engine develops 625PS of power and 800Nm of torque. The power is channelled to all four wheels via a close ratio 8-speed ZF transmission and the GT Speed sprints from 0-100kmph in only 4.2 seconds. Bentley claim that the new gearbox improves fuel economy by a significant 12 per cent and also contributes to lesser emissions.
The GT Speed's chassis has a lowered ride height with uprated steering and suspension parts. It rides on 21-inch Speed wheels which have 275/35 R21 Pirelli PZero high performance tyres. The interiors feature bespoke elements and the hand-crafted cabin has Mulliner Driving Specification as standard with the various Speed design cues abounding as well.
Bentley has started taking orders for the new Speed with deliveries commencing from October 2012.
