Bajaj Auto has sold 2.38 lakh units of 2Ws in July 2020, down by 26 per cent
Pune based automobile manufacturer Bajaj Auto has released its sales figures for July 2020. The company had sold a total of 1,52,474 units in the domestic market, down by 11 per cent compared to that of July 2019's sale of 1,70,978 units. Exports numbers stood at 86,082 units, which have dipped by 43 per cent compared to that of July 2019 which was 1,51,232 units. The total numbers for June 2020, add up to 2,38,576 units, registering a decline of 26 per cent compared to 3,22,210 units in July 2019.
The commercial business saw a sales performance of 6,502 units in July 2020 in the domestic market, which was 34,492 units in July 2019 amounting to a drop of 81 per cent. The exports for commercial business stood at 10,774 units in July 2020, 57 per cent lower than that in July 2019 which was 24,828 units. In total, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 17,276 commercial vehicles in July 2020, 71 per cent lower than that in July 2019.
The YTD performance saw Bajaj Auto sell a total of 3,38,455 units of 2Ws during Apr-July 2020 which was 7,81,914 units during Apr-July 2019, a decline of 57 per cent. Exports of 2Ws were 3,00,030 units this year, a decline of 52 per cent compared to 6,22,923 units during the previous. In total, the 2W YTD sales saw a decline of 55 per cent, with a sale of 6,38,485 units compared to 14,04,837 units. The commercial sales performance during Apr-July 2020 are 11,784units which were 1,20,709 units during Apr-July 2019, reporting a drop of 90 per cent. Exports of commercial vehicles during the period was 48,666 units, down by 53 per cent compared to 1,03,158 units in the same period last year. Collectively, this amounted to a drop of 73 per cent in commercial sales compared to that done in the same period last year. In terms of total sales, which includes 2Ws and commercial vehicles, during Apr-July 2020, the company sold a total of 6,98,935 units, 57 per cent lower than that done in the same period last year at 16,28,704 units
