Auto sales June 2023: Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, and more
The first half of the current calendar year is over. In the past six months, carmakers have witnessed both growth and decline in their sales. In fact, the long-running semiconductor shortage still continues to affect the industry. More to the point, the brands, such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai, MG, Toyota, and others have released the sales reports for June 2023.
Maruti Suzuki June 2023 sales
Maruti Suzuki, India's largest automaker, registered a noticeable growth with a sales of 1,33,027 units in June 2023 compared to 1,22,685 units sold in the same period of last year. However, its exports dropped to 19,770 units in the previous month from 23,833 units of the June 2022. The total sales of the carmaker, including domestic, commercial vehicle, exports, and sales to other OEM stood at 1,59,418 units as against 1,55,857 units sold in the same month of last year.
Hyundai June 2023 sales
Hyundai's total sales stood at 65,601 units in June 2023, reporting 5.21 per cent growth compared to 62,351 units sold in the same period of last year. The total sales comprised domestic sales of 50,001 units with a two per cent increase as against 49,001 units delivered in June 2022. Meanwhile, the carmaker exported 15,600 units in the previous month, witnessing a growth of 16.85 per cent from 13,350 units exported in the same month of 2022.
Honda June 2023 sales
Honda Cars India reported a decline in sales at 5,080 units compared to 7,834 units sold in June 2022. The exports for the previous month stood at 2,112 units as against 2,502 units shipped in the same period of last year.
Toyota June 2023 sales
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) register a 19 per cent month-on-month growth in sales at 19,608 units compared to 16,512 units sold in the same month of 2022. In terms of the sales of the first half, the carmaker reported 36 per cent growth in sales from 75,017 units of June 2022 to 1,02,371 units sold in the previous month.
MG June 2023 sales
MG Motor India sales stood at 5,125 units with in June 2023 with 14 per cent growth as against 4,504 units sold in the same period of the previous year. It registered 40 per cent growth at 14,682 units in the second quarter of the year compared to 10,519 units.
Tata Motors June 2023 sales
Tata Motors reported a sales of five per cent at 47,235 units sold in June 2023 compared to 45,199 units in the corresponding period of 2022. The overall sales of vehicles in the first quarter of 2024 stood at 2,26,245 units as against 2,31,248 units in the Q1 of 2023. It is to be noted that the carmaker registered a 105 per cent growth in the EV segment at 19,346 units sold in the first quarter of 2024 compared to 9,446 units in Q1 FY23.
Audi H1 2023 sales
In the luxury car segment, Audi India sold 3,474 units in the first half of the calendar year, reporting 97 per cent growth from the sales 1,765 units in the same period of 2022. Further, Audi Approved: Plus, the pre-owned car business of the brand, witnessed 53 per cent growth in the market.
