Auto Expo 2023: BYD Seal EV launch confirmed
At the Auto Expo 2023, BYD debuted the brand-new Seal sedan in India for the first time. Additionally, BYD has stated that it will launch in India by the fourth quarter of 2023, with deliveries starting at about the same time.
The Seal EV has huge LED headlights and C-shaped DRLs up front, giving it a sleek, modern exterior. The beautifully crafted LED lighting components in the side air vents and bumper trim pieces are just one example of how much aesthetic flair it possesses.
Its integrated LED taillights at the back are exquisitely designed with LED fish scale-like parts. The bumper's lower portion features fake diffuser-like ornamentation at the bottom and side vents.
It is anticipated that India would receive the Seal EV's Long Range edition, which will have an 82.5kWh battery pack capable of a 700km range (claimed). It has a dual-motor all-wheel drivetrain (AWD) with 312PS and 360Nm, which enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.9 seconds, which is reasonable for a rather large electric car.
A smaller 61.4kWh option with a 550km driving range is also available overseas. Even a 530PS AWD performance model with a 0-100kmph time of under 3.8 seconds is available in the Chinese market.
The Seal EV sports a 10.25-inch digital driver's display and a spinning 15.6-inch touchscreen. A panoramic glass roof and driver-assistance systems including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring are further highlights.
We expect the BYD Seal EV will be priced around the Rs 40 lakh price point.
