August 2020 sales: Bajaj Auto sells a total of 3.21 lakh units of two-wheelers
Bajaj Auto has released its sales figures for August 2020. The company has sold a total of 1,78,220 units in the domestic market, up by 3 per cent compared to that of August 2019's sale of 1,73,024 units. Exports numbers stood at 1,42,838 units, which have dipped by 6 per cent compared to that of August 2019 which was 1,52,276 units. The total numbers for August 2020, add up to 3,21,058 units, registering a decline of 1 per cent compared to 3,25,300 units in August 2019.
The commercial business saw a sales performance of 7,659 units in August 2020 in the domestic market, which was 35,085 units in August 2019 amounting to a drop of 78 per cent. The exports for commercial business stood at 27,482 units in August 2020, 7 per cent lower than that in August 2019 which was 29,641 units. In total, Bajaj Auto sold a total of 35,141 commercial vehicles in August 2020, 46 per cent lower than that in August 2019.
The YTD performance saw Bajaj Auto sell a total of 5,16,675 units of 2Ws during Apr-August 2020 which was 9,54,938 units during Apr-August 2019, a decline of 46 per cent. Exports of 2Ws were 4,22,868 units this year, a decline of 43 per cent compared to 7,75,199 units during the previous.
In total, the 2W YTD sales saw a decline of 45 per cent, with a sale of 9,59,543 units compared to 17,30,137 units. The commercial sales performance during Apr-August 2020 are 19,443 units which were 1,55,794 units during Apr-August 2019, reporting a drop of 88 per cent.
Exports of commercial vehicles during the period was 76,148 units, down by 43 per cent compared to 1,32,799 units in the same period last year. Collectively, this amounted to a drop of 67 per cent in commercial sales compared to that done in the same period last year. In terms of total sales, which includes 2Ws and commercial vehicles, during Apr-August 2020, the company sold a total of 10,55,134 units, 48 per cent lower than that done in the same period last year at 20,18,730 units
