April 2023 two-wheeler sales: Royal Enfield, Hero, Honda, TVS, and more

Two-wheeler manufactures, such as Royal Enfield, Hero, TVS, Ather, Honda, in India have released monthly sales results for April 2023. While some brands have witnessed marginal to significant sales growth, a handful of them have also registered a drop in monthly sales.

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield year-on-year sales rose 28 per cent to 68,881 motorcycles in April 2023 from 53,852 units sold during the same month of last year. In terms of month-on-month sales, the bike maker sold 59,884 two-wheelers in March 2023. Exports for April 2023 dipped to 4,255 units from 8,303 units in the same period of 2022.

Hero MotoCorp

India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp, has announced the sales results for April 2023, reporting a five per cent Y-o-Y decline in sales to 3,96,107 units from 4,18,662 units sold during the same period of the past year. Whereas, the exports dropped to 9,923 units in the previous month from 20,132 units of April 2022. Hero sold 3,68,830 motorcycles and 27,277 scooters in April 2023 as against 3,92,627 motorcycles and 25,995 scooters in the same month of 2022.

TVS

The total two-wheelers sales of TVS rose by 5 per cent to 2,94,786 units in April 2023 from 280,022 units in April 2022. The brand registered a domestic sales growth of 29 per cent at 2,32,956 units compared to 180,553 units in the same period of 2022. In particular, motorcycle sales grew 10 per cent to 1,52,365 units from 139,027 units in April 2022, while scooter sales reported a five per cent increase in sales with 1,07,496 units sold as against 102,209 units in the same month of the last year.

Further, TVS iQube electric scooter has recorded a sales milestone of 1,00,000 units. It also meets the new AIS 156 phase-2 norms. Meanwhile. The iQube registered sales of 6,227 units in the previous month in comparison 1,420 units sold in April 2022.

Suzuki

Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd reported a 23.3 per cent rise in year-on-year sales at 88,731 units in April this year compared to the same month of 2022.. The overall sales comprised 67,259 units sold in domestic market and 21,472 units of export.

Honda

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India's total sales stood at 374,747 units in April 2023. Its domestic sales rose by six per cent to 338,289 units, from 3,18,732 units sold in the same period of 2022. Notably, Honda witnessed a drop in sales at 1,97,512 units in March 2023. The bike maker exported 36,458 units in the past month.

Ather Energy

Ather Energy sold 8,182 units in the last month, registering a 117 per cent year-on-year growth as against 3,779 units sold in April 2022. Whereas, the company witnessed a 30 per cent dip in month-on-month sales from 11,754 units sold in March 2023.
