The American multinational technology company, Apple Inc has released its latest update for its iPhones, iOS13 at the WWDC 2019. The company believes that this update is an important one as it features a host of improvements that have tweaked the performance of the phone. Among the changes, the Apple Maps has gone through a thorough revision too. The Apple iOS13 enables the user to locate a spot on the Apple Map and explore it by seeing a 360-degree panorama style photographs.

Apple has been investing heavily in terms of efforts by clocking millions of miles and collecting data by driving cars in and across the United States and other countries. This has helped the American company collate tons of data which includes information of various locations as well as collecting photographs of these places. With the help of all this data, Apple has developed its Maps from scratch. The tech company will be releasing this update in maps across the United States along with select other countries by the end of this year. Similar to the US, other countries will also get the same list of features and options. Considering the fact that India is amongst the important countries for Apple, we believe the updated Apple Maps will make its way into our country as well.

It is clear that with the iOS 13 update, Apple wants to take on its arch rival Google as the latter's maps is the most widely used navigation software across the globe. The updated Apple Map's interface will be similar to what we have seen on Google Maps' Street View. At the WWDC 2019 presentation, Apple also showcased the interface and its functioning which is said to be at par and even better than that of Google, something that we have to find out with the iOS 13 update coming to India.

Earlier this year, Apple added more features to its Maps on all the iOS and macOS devices. Vehicles with Apple CarPlay enabled infotainment system can make use of the voice navigation feature with the help of their iOS and macOS devices. More importantly, the Apple Maps update has also received turn-by-turn navigation, something that is already present on Google Maps. In addition to giving turn-by-turn navigation, Apple Maps also offers different modes such as Drive and Walk that can be altered in between navigation. Apple Maps now also offers the option to view different cab services such as Ola and Uber along with public transport options. The cab services also display the time that would be taken by the cab to reach your location. You can either select the option from Apple Maps itself or click on the option and it directs you to the Cab application.
