Apache RR310-based BMW motorcycle to launch on July 15
BMW Motorrad India recently took to social media which teases the eminent launch of a new motorcycle, and we then received a 'save the date' from company with just this one photograph (below) of the tail-end of a motorcycle which confirms that the bike will in fact launch on June 15 this year.
Even a Neanderthal who came out of his cave, into the world a couple of years ago, will tell you that the tail section of the bike in the picture in concern looks very similar to the TVS Apache RR 310 motorcycle. So, seeing as tie-up between both companies still stands, we can safely conclude that BMW Motorrad India will be coming out with its own iteration of the TVS Apache RR310.
BMW's new Apache RR310-based bike is expected to be available in the Motorrad colours and could be called the S 310 RR. You ca expect to see a motorcycle that's styled as aggressively as the TVS twin, with the clip-on bars and rear-set pegs, but obviously with some German badging on either side of the tank.
We foresee the 312.2cc, 34PS and 27Nm producing liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine carried over from the now older TVS bike in the same state of tune. Expect a Bluetooth enabled TFT display, and just like the TVS, multiple riding modes that alter the bike's performance and give you a different styled readouts on the screen.
We think that the new little sport-focused BMW's trellis frame and sub-frame will be plucked out of the TVS parts bin while suspension will be managed by the fully-adjustable USD fork and the rebound adjustable rear monoshock from the RR310's built to order menu.
In terms of the new bike's pricing, we expect it to sit between the BMW G 310 R/ TVS Apache RR310 (both similarly priced) at Rs 2.6 lakh, and the recently launched KTM RC 390 at Rs 3.14 lakh.
