All-new Harley-Davidson X440 India debut on 3 July 2023
The all-new Harley-Davidson X440 co-developed by Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson will make its India debut on 3 July 2023. It was previously called the H-D 4XX Project. The two-day unveiling ceremony will be held at Hero MotoCorp's Global Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The X440 is likely to be manufactured in the country, perhaps at Hero's facility. Notably, this new platform could spawn a range of new motorcycles in the future.
Harley-Davidson X440: Engine
As its name suggests, powering the new Harley-Davidson X440 will be a new 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine probably mated to a six-speed gearbox. However, the exact details about its displacement, power output, torque, and gearbox will be revealed at the launch event. The first leaked pictures of the motorcycle disclosed that the engine is capable of redlining at 8,000rpm
Harley-Davidson X440: Design
Although the Harley-Davidson X440 appears a roadster, it also has a touch of modern classic. The key highlights of the design include a circular LED headlamp, a horizontal DRL, round LED indicators, black alloy wheels with silver inserts, side-slung exhaust, single-piece seat, and a typical Harley-Davidson fuel tank.
Harley-Davidson X440: Specifications
The upcoming X440 will come with upside-down front forks, a pair of rear spring shocks, single-disc brakes at the front and back, a round cluster, probably fully digital colour TFT with Bluetooth connectivity, and dual-channel ABS. It could also get a slipper clutch, traction control, riding modes, and more.
Harley-Davidson X440: Prices and Rivals
The prices of the X440 could range between Rs 2.70 lakh to Rs 3.30 lakh in India. Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Royal Enfield Classic 350.
