2026 Tata Sierra VS Renault Duster
The SUV space has so many players with their talons firmly gripping the market share and dominating the segment, and in mix, Tata has brought back the Sierra name plate which has a nostalgic value and the flipside has Renault Duster entering the market afresh after its discontinuation in 2022. Well, we compare the two new birds in the market to see how they fare on paper and we start with the dimension.

On paper, the Sierra has a wheelbase that is 73 mm longer than the Duster which ought to provide more legroom for the rear passengers and over 100-litres of bootspace. In terms of width and height, the Sierra has advantage.

The Renault Duster does not offer a diesel powertrain, now that may come across as a missed opportunity. Renault may be offering a strong hybrid powertrain in the near future.

Features
Both SUVs are loaded to the gills in terms of features, they both come equipped with sizeable touchscreen infotainment unit, wireless phone charging, panoramic sunroof, and ventilated front seats to name a few. Some noteworthy mentions include a 12-speaker JBL sound system, a a Boss mode (manual), a passenger-side display and a heads-up display for the Tata Sierra. Similarly, the Duster offers a power-adjustable co-driver seat, a 1-touch up/down for all power windows, and Google built-in. The Duster also misses out on extendable under thigh support for the front seats, rear window sunshades and extendable sun visors.

The safety suite on both SUVs include Level-2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, and six-airbags as standard to name a few.
Verdict
On paper, the Tata Sierra seems to be offering a lot for the buck when compared to the Renault Duster. The former has a long list of features, and more powertrains on offer. The Renault Duster makes a strengthens its case with the strong hybrid powertrain on offer, and the butch road presence that may attract potential customers shopping in this segment.
