2024 Skoda Superb Old vs New: What's changed?

The 2024 Skoda Superb has been introduced internationally and is set to arrive in India sometime next year. It will signal the return of the executive sedan to the nation after it was discontinued earlier this year. The next-generation Superb differs significantly from the retired India-spec model because to its new Modern Solid design language. The new Superb seems larger since it is 43mm longer and 12mm taller than the previous model. The new Superb also has a larger and significantly revised grille than the now-discontinued India-spec variant. The bonnet has been somewhat redesigned, the LED headlights and DRLs have been made sleeker, and the bumper has sharper cuts issuing from the headlights. Skoda has deleted the bottom fog lamps and replaced them with a diagonal chrome pattern on the front bumper.

The new Superb receives sleeker C-shaped LED tail lights with separate light components at the back. Skoda has also added a new logo, widened the boot lip, and altered the bumper and reflector panels.

The next-generation Superb will continue to offer petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. All of the gasoline and diesel engines are linked to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The standard engine is a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol with a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces 150PS of power. Above it are two 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engines, one with 204PS and the other with 265PS, as well as two 2.0-litre turbo-diesels, one with 150PS and one with 193PS. All-wheel drive is standard on the most powerful petrol and diesel variants.

The upgrades made inside the new Skoda Superb are more noticeable. It receives a new layered dashboard with several cabin themes. The dashboard includes vertical slats that conceal the side AC vents and a curved design at the bottom that blends into the center console. This dash also features a 13-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment system, up from an 8-inch device in the previous model. A 10-inch digital driver's display and a heads-up display are also included.

The centre console now features a basic appearance and few controls. The AC dials remain physical, but they now include haptic controls and a smart display. The drive-selector has then been relocated to a stalk behind the steering wheel. In the middle, there's also a wireless phone charger, and the centre console merges with a central tunnel.

The 2024 Skoda Superb will be on sale internationally early next year, and it will be available in India as a CBU (fully built-up unit) later that year. Skoda might price it starting at Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) since the now-discontinued Skoda Superb was previously available Superb was priced from Rs 34.19 lakh to Rs 37.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
