2023 Auto Expo: Ampere showcases Ampere Primus and two new electric scooters

Electric two-wheeler maker Greaves Electric Mobility has unveiled the new Ampere Primus electric scooter alongside the NXG and NXU concept e-scooters at the 2023 Auto Expo. Notably, Ampere has opened bookings for the Ampere Primus for Rs 999 starting today.

New Ampere Primus

The Ampere Primus resembles the Ampere Magnus EX in terms of design. Additionally, it features new paint options. Ampere has equipped it with an LED headlight, a daytime running light, vertically-placed turn signals, a Bluetooth-enabled coloured display with navigation, and more.

Powering the Ampere Premus is a 3kWh LFP battery pack and a mid-mounted electric motor that produces 3.8kW. The e-scooter promises a travel range of over 100km and provides a top speed of 77kmph. As claimed, the battery can be charged in 4-5 hours. The electric scooter offers three modes: Eco, City, and Power. It also gets a reverse mode.

NXG and NXU Concepts

Alongside the announcement of the Ampere Primus, Greaves Electric Mobility also showcased two all-new electric scooter concepts, namely the NXG and NXU. The premium e-scooters use a new modular architecture. The NXG concept is a B2C offering, while the NXU is for businesses and fleet operators.

The highlights of the NXG concept include an LED headlight with illuminated Ampere lettering, V-shaped DRLs, hyphen-shaped turn indicators, a colour TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and a front disc brake.

The NXU concept, being targeted at businesses, features a distinctive design. In addition, it also comes with a luggage system comprising a top box and side panniers. In terms of design, the NXU gets a circular headlight with a daytime running light, handlebar-mounted turn signals, a digital instrument cluster, and a front disc brake, among others.
