2022 Range Rover leaked ahead of its unveil on October 26

The Range Rover is a long-standing brand name in the history of the automobile industry. Heading into its fifth generation and with the unveiling scheduled for October 26, 2021, a series of leaked images of the upcoming Range Rover have been travelling over social media which gives us a hint as to what the new British royalty will look like.

Several spy pictures of the new Range Rover undergoing testing in the United Kingdom and elsewhere have revealed an evolutionary design language. According to these pictures, the front end of the Range Rover will have a similar front-end design, grille and headlamp arrangement to the current generation Range Rover family.

The Range Rover retains its powerful two-box shape, as well as a strong shoulder line and a fresh interpretation of the vertical ornamentation on the front door near the A-pillar. However, the car's rear end changes, with what seems to be a new full-width taillight on the tailgate and vertical lighting clusters on the car's rear corners.

The 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 found in the xDrive 50i variants of the BMW X5 and BMW X7 SUVs will rest under the bonnet of the new Range Rover.

Six-cylinder diesel engines with mild hybrid assistance from the outgoing car are likely to be carried over, though it's unclear at this time whether the Range Rover's expanded plug-in hybrid technology will use a new powertrain compared to the outgoing car's P400e option, which was powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine, a battery and an electric motor.

Many of Land Rover's recent vehicles have adopted the new 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system, and the 2019 Range Rover appears to follow suit on the interior, incorporating the brand's newest infotainment technology into a dashboard that mirrors the front end's evolutionary style.

The Range Rover will come to India later once it's launched in international markets. As for the pricing, don't expect the Range Rover to start anything below Rs 1 crore once it arrives.
