2022 MG ZS EV facelift launched in India, prices start from Rs 22 lakh
MG Motor India has launched the facelifted 2022 MG ZS EV in India. Prices for the electric SUV start from Rs 22 lakh for the base variant, although deliveries for this Excite variant begin in July 2022. With this facelift, the ZS EV now gets the general styling and interior enhancements that first came to the conventionally-powered MG Astor, including a larger battery pack.
2022 MG ZS EV facelift exterior
The refreshed MG ZS EV gets new styling, bringing it in line with the MG Astor. The LED headlamps are similar to the petrol-powered SUV but the front grille section has now been blanked out, housing only the charging port. The bumpers have also been revised with a large two-part air dam that houses the ADAS sensor and sharp cuts to the edges. There are new 17-inch alloy wheels while at the rear there are the new-look segmented LED taillamps and a more aerodynamic bumper design like in the front.
2022 MG ZS EV facelift interior, features, safety
The MG ZS EV now gets the Astor's new dash layout with its soft-touch materials, rotary air vents and layered look. This is done up in an all-black theme with contract stitching. The centre console houses a rotary gear shifter, the drive mode and regen level switches and larger storage spaces. Feature highlights are the new 10.1-inch touchscreen with the AI assistant, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, powered seats, panoramic sunroof, e-brake, heated ORVM, rain-sensing wipers, PM2.5 filter, front and rear armrests and a Bluetooth-operated digital key for locking/unlocking and starting the ZS EV. The 2022 ZS EV also gets some of the advanced safety features that are available with the Astor, although not the full Level 2 ADAS capability. This includes lane change assist, blindspot detection and rear cross-traffic alert. Passive safety features that may be offered are a 360-degree camera, traction control, hill-descent control, ABS with EBD and 6 airbags.
2022 MG ZS EV facelift battery, range
The 2022 MG ZS EV now gets a larger 50.3 kWh pack with a more powerful electric motor putting out 176PS. The ARAI certified range has gone up to 461 km as a result, up from the 419 km offered by the previous 44.5 kWh battery pack. The 2022 MG ZS EV can do 0 to 100 kmph in 8.5s.
