2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N: Manual prices and variants explained

Mahindra has launched the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N in India ahead of its deliveries during the festive season. Bookings for the ladder-frame SUV begin on July 30 and only the prices for the manual variants of the Scorpio have been revealed. The automatic and 4x4 variants' prices are expected to be revealed before the booking window opens.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N exterior front

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N gets the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol in the same tune as in the XUV700, putting out 203PS and 370 Nm in the manual variant, increasing to 380 Nm in the automatic. The 2.2-litre diesel is tuned from the XUV700 but has outputs higher than the Thar with which the Scorpio-N shares its chassis as well as 4x4 equipment. The base Z2 diesel puts out 134PS and 300 Nm but the rest of the variants make 175PS and 370Nm(MT) or 400 Nm(AT). The manual is a six-speed unit as is the torque converter automatic. The Scorpio-N also get an independent five-link rear suspension with a Watt's link as well as frequency-selective dampers.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N gets drive modes as well as off-road modes in the 4x4 XPlor variants. This is a shift-on-the-fly system with mechanical and brake-locking differentials.
