The regular Ford Bronco was already pretty robust and crazy enough, but Ford felt it was their obligation to add a Raptor variant to the line-up. Ford has officially unveiled the all-new Ford Bronco Raptor and from the looks of it, we're blown.

Designed by the same Ford Performance team that manufacturer the Ford F-150 Raptor, a number of things have been worked on to make the Bronco Raptor significantly more competent off-road than previous versions. The SUV comes equipped with 37-inch all-terrain tyres with extremely thick sidewalls for improved off-road durability. Ford has also partnered up with Fox to enhance its suspension system, which now has 13 and 14 inches of front and rear travel, respectively. The front and rear axles have also been strengthened to guarantee that they can withstand tougher terrains.

The grille, now has 'FORD' writing instead of 'BRONCO,' in true Raptor form. The headlights are similar to the regular, but the DRLs are amber, and the three-position bulbs on top of the Ford branding will be noticed by Raptor fans. The hood, which receives a hood scoop for extra muscle, adds beef to the look.

A 3.0L twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine powers the Ford Bronco Raptor, which also powers the Ford Explorer ST. The 6-cylinder engine is said to have a tremendous power output of over 400PS. The 2.3L 4-cylinder and 2.7L V6 engines in the basic Bronco provide 270PS and 310PS, respectively. A 10-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard.

The enhanced 4WD (four-wheel drive) system is standard on the new 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor. It has Ford's Go Over All Terrain (GOAT) terrain management system with numerous modes, including a new Baja driving mode, just like the normal model. Active-valve technology has helped its dual exhaust system.

Vinyl seats, rubberized flooring, suede seats with leather-wrapped bolsters (optional), SYNC4 with a 12.0-inch centre touchscreen, a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system (optional) and adaptive cruise control are just a few of the key interior highlights.

The Ford Bronco Raptor will go on sale in the US later this year and its key competitors include the Land Rover Defender and the Jeep Wrangler.
