2022 BMW i4 electric 4-door coupe launched in India, prices start from Rs 69.90 lakh
BMW India has now launched the BMW i4 EV with prices starting from Rs 69.90 lakh for the base i4 Drive 40.
2022 BMW i4 battery, range, charging
An 83.9 kWh(80.7 kWh) battery pack powers the single-motor i4 eDrive40 and has a WLTP range of up to 590 km. The BMW i4 is based on the firm's CLAR architecture which it also shares with the 4 Series Gran Coupe. Although, significant structural changes have been made to the suspension, front sub-frame and underbody to accommodate the battery pack and EV drivetrain.
The BMW i4 can charge at up to 205 kW DC which lets the i4 eDrive40 add 164 km in 10 minutes. There is one-pedal driving, an adaptive regen mode as well as a heat pump for improved efficiency.

The rear-motor i4 eDrive40 can do the same sprint in 5.7s and puts out 340PS and 430 Nm. The car uses a fifth-gen electric motor that optimises performance over a wider operating range for better high-speed performance.
Rear air suspension and the near-actuator wheel slip limitation handling aid are standard in the base BMW i4.

The interiors of the BMW i4 are similar to that of the 4 Series Gran Coupe it is based on. Notable features include a special soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 14.9-inch touchscreen with the latest iDrive 8, double-glazing,
The exterior gets EV-focused enhancements like a blanked-out front, flush door handles and aero wheels.
2022 BMW i4 rivals
The BMW i4 has no direct rivals in India currently. BMW has installed DC fast chargers at 34 dealers across India. This is available to all EV users.
