The new-generation iteration has received thorough updates in the form of sharper design, a host of riding aids, lighter underpinnings and a more powerful EuroV compliant engine. The 1,340cc motor now features reprofiled camshafts with new valve springs also the exhaust valve lift has been tweaked. The engine also sports an updated crankshaft, piston rods and pins. Mated to the engine is a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch which also features a bi-directional quick-shifter.
The Japanese motorcycle manufacturer also claims to have worked on the reliability and the longevity aspects of the engine with the use of new bearings and oil flow for the crank. In terms of sheer numbers, the engine makes 190PS of power at 9,700rpm and generates 150Nm at 7,000rpm. Importantly, with the use of lighter components in the engine and the underpinnings, Suzuki has shelved 2kg from the overall weight of the motorcycle.
