2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift LWB launched in India, prices start from Rs 63.60 lakh

Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB in India. Prices start from Rs 63.60 lakh for the base E 200 Expression, going up to Rs 80.9 lakh for the E 350d AMG Line. The E-Class LWB gets a significantly revised look with this mid-life update. So you have the fully revised frontal area, now brought in line with the rest of the Mercedes line-up with the widening grille, angular headlamps with the A-Class like DRLs, a more sculpted bonnet and bumpers. The E-Class LWB remains largely identical in profile, except for new alloy wheels, while at the rear the vertically stacked tail-lamps have been replaced by another iteration the wide two-part units seen on the brand's new cars, especially similar to the ones on the new S-Class. The revised E-Class LWB is 22mm longer with these changes. Specifically for India, the E350d is available with the AMG Line exterior package which adds power domes on the bonnet, diamond-studded grille, AMG-style bumpers, side skirts and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The 140mm wheelbase advantage over the SWB E-Class remains unchanged with this update. On the inside, the widescreen infotainment system with the two 12-inch screens has been updated to the MBUX system with its touch screen functionality, voice assistant and crisper menus. Another change is the new three-spoke steering wheel. In the rear, the E-Class LWB features improved cushioning for the middle passenger and a new touchscreen control panel in the centre armrest.

Notable features are the reclining rear seats, chauffeur package, rear removable touchpad in the centre armrest, Burmester sound system, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger at the rear, power close function for doors, active parking. The E 350d further adds a 360-degree camera, front seats with memory function, front wireless charging, illuminated door sills and a unique beige-Tropez interior upholstery theme.

The diesel is the OM 654 2.0-litre unit that puts out 196PS and 400Nm while the petrol is the M264 2.0-litre engine making 200PS and 320Nm of torque. The range-topping E 350d is powered by the 3.0-litre inline-six OM656 diesel with 283PS and 600 Nm. All engines pair with a nine-speed torque converter unit. The E 350d is also the only one to feature adaptive air suspension.
