2021 BMW M340i xDrive launched in India at Rs 62.90 lakh
BMW has launched the 2021 BMW M340i in India, priced at Rs 62.90 lakh. This is the first locally-manufactured M Performance model from the brand and one which BMW claims is also the quickest locally manufactured performance car in India. Bookings for the M340i have begun and the model is available for delivery after June 2021, with all prior units sold.
The BMW M340i is powered by the M-tuned B58 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol making 387PS and 500 Nm. The M340i pairs this with BMW's xDrive AWD system, a segment-first in India, and an 8-speed ZF torque-convertor automatic. Other mechanical upgrades over the standard 3 Series are the M Sport exhaust unit, an active rear differential that controls power distribution to each wheel, a revised suspension with stiffer bearings, springs and ant-rollbars and a 10mm lowered ride height, variable-ratio steering, upgraded brakes, and the BMW performance stability control system.
Interior fitments unique to this version are Alcantara sport seats with M-specific upholstery, black roofline and trim elements, aluminium interior highlights, M-specific leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, M-themed seatbelts and M340i lettering on the digital instrumentation and front door sills. Notable features the M340i comes equipped with are 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, voice assistant, gesture control, wireless charging, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, HUD and cruise control with braking. Safety is taken care of with six airbags, ABS, ESC with dynamic TC, electric parking brake with auto hold, runflat tyres with TPMS and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The BMW M340i also features slightly differentiated styling. There is a different detailing to the kidney grille, aero-optinised body elements, laser headlamps with L-shaped DRLs, a body-coloured spoiler and metallic grey highlights on the mirror caps, air intakes, tailpipes and badging. Three colour options are available - Dravit Grey, Sunset Orange and Tanzanite Blue. Three accessory packs can also be chosen - Enthusiast Pack, Racer's Pack and Motorsport Pack.
