2021 Audi Q5 facelift bookings open in India
Audi India has started accepting bookings for the facelifted 2021 Audi Q5 SUV, ahead of its launch later this month. The Q5 can be booked online or at any Audi dealership for a Rs 2 lakh deposit and returns to the Audi line-up after the pre-facelift version was discontinued in 2020 post the BSVI shake-up.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift engine, specifications, styling
The Audi Q5 facelift will be available with a single petrol engine. This is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol that puts out 245PS and 370 Nm and pairs with a seven-speed twin-clutch gearbox. The SUV will also come with the quattro all-wheel-drive system, drive modes and adaptive suspension.
The facelifted Audi Q5 gets a new face with the new Audi grille, wider and flatter than before. The standard LED headlamps have been sharpened up and get the segmented LED lighting seen on cars like the A6 and A8. The bumpers have been sharpened up too while there are new tail lamps and a chunkier ornamental diffuser.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift features, interiors, safety
The facelifted 2021 Q5 will be available in two variants - Premium Plus and Technology. The feature highlights will include a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, digital instrument cluster, Bang and Olufsen sound system, wireless charging and a remote boot opening function among other things. Safety features will include eight airbags and a park assist function.
On the inside, the design gets some of the horizontal themes from newer Audis. This is seen in the new centre-console design with the chunky gear shifter and piano black trim.
2021 Audi Q5 facelift expected price, rivals
The 2021 Audi Q5 is being locally assembled at the Volkswagen Group's facility in Aurangabad. This should let Audi India price it on par with rivals like the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, the upcoming Volvo XC60 facelift and the Jaguar F-Pace. Expect prices to start from Rs 60 lakh, ex-showroom.
