2020 Skoda Octavia RS 245 priced at Rs 36 lakh, bookings commence from March 1

Skoda revealed the price of the Octavia RS 245, that is Rs 36 lakh, ex-showroom and also announced the commencement of online bookings which will start from the noon of March 1, 2020. The bookings will take place via a centralized platform, against a booking fee of Rs 1 lakh.

Bookings will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis with the allocation being limited to 200 units which will be shipped to India in a completely built-up (CBU) form. Deliveries of the Octavia RS 245 will commence in April.

The new Octavia RS 245 comes equipped with the turbocharged 2.0 TSI petrol engine, mated to a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission, delivering a power output of 245 PS and a peak torque output of 370Nm at 4,300rpm range. The power has increased by 15PS from the outgoing model. The vRS Mode button on the centre console adjusts the characteristics of the engine, electronic assistants, and stability control systems.

Externally, the Octavia RS 245 carries design philosophy from the outgoing model with few cosmetic changes like blacked-out elements and new 'Vega' alloy wheels. The body kit is 15mm lower than the predecessor, giving it a more aggressive stance. On the interiors, the car will come with Alcantara sports seats, flat bottomed steering wheel with paddle-shift and a virtual cockpit. A twelve-way electrically-adjustable driver and front passenger seats, with lumbar support and three programmable memory functions for the driver seat, is offered as well.

When it comes to safety features, the Octavia RS 245 comes with nine airbags as standard with addition to other safety functions include AFS (Adaptive Front light System), ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist), MKB (Multi Collision Brake), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assist), ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), and EDS (Electronic Differential Lock).

Skoda will offer five colour options for the Octavia RS 245 – rallye green, race blue, corrida red, magic black, and candy white.
