Mercedes-Benz India today launched the facelifted 2020 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe SUV in India. This comes after the facelifted GLC launched here in December 2019. This launch continues the brand strong product offensive and follows the launch of the V-Class Marco Polo and the AMG GT 4-door at the Auto Expo 2020. This is the eight model in Mercedes-Benz's Indian SUV line-up and the 10th car to be locally assembled at its Chakan plant.

Pricing

Unlike the pre-facelift car, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe is not being launched here as an AMG model. The AMG versions will follow, but the coupe SUV has been launched in the GLC 300 petrol and GLC 300d diesel versions. The petrol version costs Rs 62.7 lakh and the diesel comes in at 63.7 lakh. Both versions can be had with the two year/unlimited km Star Ease maintenance packages that cost Rs 67,300 for the petrol or Rs 77,000 diesel.

Engines

The petrol engine on offer is the 1991cc inline four-cylinder M 264 motor. The 300 series denotes that it is in a more powerful state of tune than in the standard GLE, making 258PS and 370 Nm. This get the coupe-SUV from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.3s and has a 240 kmph top-speed. The GLC 300d does this run in 6.6s and can reach 233 kmph. This version is powered by the OM654 1,950cc inline four-cylinder diesel as seen on the CLS-Class and the new GLE. Outputs are 245PS and 500 Nm. Both BSVI-compliant engines get the 4Matic AWD system and come paired with new 9G-Tronic nine-speed torque-convertor automatic.

Features

The 2020 GLC Coupe now gets more features with this update. The highlight is the MBUX infotainment system which uses AI-based voice commands. Another big addition is the MercedesMe suite of connected-car features. Unlike the standard GLC, the Coupe also gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other feature highlights are a dual-zone AC, wireless charging, hard-disk navigation, two-rear USB ports and cruise control.

Styling

Dimensionally, the GLC Coupe is 4,658mm tall, 1,890mm wide and 1,644mm tall. Design changes include a new full-LED headlamp cluster, the new diamond-pattern radiator grille in silver, a new-look diffuser at the rear along with new trim along the tail-pipes.
