2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift spied testing for the first time

The first spy images of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire facelift that is set to debut later this year, have appeared online. This will be the first significant update to the third-gen Dzire, which launched here in 2017. The Dzire competes with the likes of the new Hyundai Aura and the Honda Amaze.

The picture shows that the new Dzire gets a refreshed front end, mainly via the refreshed full-face hexagonal grille. The car shown here seems like a base-spec car, top versions can be expected to sport projector lamps with slightly redesigned DRLs and fog lamps within the larger cutouts in the front bumper. At the rear we expect the new Dzire to come with slightly redesigned tail lamps and new bumpers. The interiors of the Dzire could see a slight refresh as well, with new colours and materials. We expect more features to be added too, like cruise control, auto-wipers and the new Smartplay Studio infotainment screen.

Mechanically, the Dzire will lose the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel, in keeping with Maruti Suzuki's decision to not make BSVI diesel cars. The 1.2-litre petrol will carry on in BSVI guise with 83PS and 113Nm. We also think the new 1.2-litre Dualjet motor that debuted on the Baleno should make its way here too, with its 90PS and 113Nm. These versions could also get the mild-hybrid assistance as seen on other Maruti cars.

Prices of the Dzire are expected to see a slight increase over the current car's prices which start from Rs 5.8 lakh. The facelifted Dzire should launch in India by the festive season.
