2020 Mahindra Scorpio SUV comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
Mahindra and Mahindra has updated the Scorpio's feature list with the introduction of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These connectivity options will be offered in the premium variants of the Scorpio, namely the S9 and the S11. Further, both these variants will get these features at no additional cost and as a part of regular features list. The Indian utility vehicle manufacturer had launched the BSVI compliant earlier this year in four variants, the S5, S7, S9 and S11.
The starting price for the Scorpio BSVI is Rs. 11.97 lakh, ex-showroom whereas the top-spec S11 trim goes all the way up to Rs 15.75 lakh, ex-showroom. In terms of design and features, the BSVI version remains largely unchanged. Powering the Scorpio is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 140PS of power at 3,750rpm and generates a torque of 320Nm at 1,500 to 2,800rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The features list of the 2020 Mahindra Scorpio BSVI includes auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch infotainment screen with navigation, reversing camera, cruise control, TPMS, outer mirrors with indicators, etc. Further, the SUV also comes equipped with dual front airbags, ABS, speed-sensing door locks, high-speed warning and an emergency call function built into the infotainment.
In other news, the new-gen Mahindra XUV500 was recently spotted doing testing around some part of the country. Apart from giving an idea of the overall silhouette in terms of design, the test mule features a twin-panel wide touchscreen unit, similar to what much premium Mercedes-Benz offers in its cars, where one part is used for instrumentation and the other part will sport the infotainment screen. This will be an important product as its monocoque underpinnings will be shared with an upcoming Ford SUV as well. More details here.
