2020 Honda WR-V facelift spied ahead of launch, specs revealed
Honda Cars India started accepting bookings for the facelifted BSVI-compliant Honda WR-V SUV in early April. With restrictions easing in many parts of the country, the revamped SUV has begun arriving at Honda dealerships.
A leaked image also suggests that the facelifted WR-V will continue with its earlier engine options, in BSVI guise of course. The 1.2-litre petrol engine makes 90PS and 110 Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel engine puts out 100PS and 200 Nm. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency numbers for the petrol and diesel are 16.5 kmpl and 23.7 kmpl respectively.
The most prominent external changes to the WR-V facelift new grille and headlamp set-up. It now gets a three-dimensional horizontally slatted grille with the signature thick chrome slat on the top. Flanking the chrome are the new LED headlamps. While the shape is more or less the same as before, the internals have been reworked to house the new lighting element with the DRL. The tail lamps also get the diffused C-shaped light guides. The WR-V also gets a one-touch electrically operated sunroof.
We can expect the WR-V to get automatic climate control, electrically adjustable and folding mirrors, rear wash and wipe, parking sensors and push-button start along with the touchscreen infotainment display. Cruise control has been added to the features list.
The Honda WR-V competes with the likes of the Tata Nexon, the Mahindra XUV300, the Ford EcoSport, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Hyundai Venue. Prices of the WR-V are expected to rise by Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 with this update.
