Triumph India will launch the new Scrambler 1200 XC today. It's the newest member of the Bonneville family and a proper dual purpose motorcycle, meant for to ridden both on and off road. Barring the 1,200cc motor, everything from the chassis to the suspension is all-new. The engine is tuned too produce strong low and mid range torque which we found to be highly effective during our first ride. Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres are the official option tyres for those looking to take the bike to some serious trails
The bike gets 5 riding modes- Road, Rain, Sport, Off-road and Rider. The latter allows you to customise TC and ABS settings
The laced, Wire spoke wheels are shod with Metzeler Tourance tubeless tyres. Even the big Tiger dosen't get this feature
Upfront are 45mm Showa forks with 200mm travel while at the rear there are twin Onlins shocks, also with 200mm travel.
The suspension is fully adjustable
Besides the engine, everything else is new. That includes the steel-aluminium frame, wheels, suspension and fuel tank
It shares the same 1,200cc, liquid cooled, parallel twin engine as the Thruxton's, producing 90PS and 110Nm. It's tuned to produce strong low and mid range torque
