Mercedes-Benz is set to launch the 2019 Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV in India today, October 16. This will be the first time a non-AMG G-Class will be India. The diesel-powered G 350d will be sold alongside the top-tier AMG G 63 version but is expected to make the G-Class available to buyers who are looking for a more practical, everyday SUV. The Mercedes-Benz G 350d has been launched in India at Rs 1.5 crore ex-showroom.
The MercedesMe suite of SIam-based connected car tech is available with the G Class.
18-inch alloys are standard, 19 and 20 inchers are optional. Six designs are available.
Multibeam LED headlamps, 64 ambient lights, the handlebar for the front passenger, the tubular elements to the air-vents, the exposed door-hinges and the upright winscreen.
The OM 656 BSVI 2,956cc inline-six motor makes 286PS at 3,400 to 4,600 rpm and 600 Nm between 1,200 and 3,200 rpm
Ground clearance of the Mercedes-Benz G 350d is 241 mm, water wading depth is 700 mm, approach and departure angles are 30 and 31 degrees respectively while the breakover angle is 26 degrees.
The G 350d will be available in a million different combinations thanks to the G Manufaktur customisation program.

The G 350d is powered by the BSVI-compliant OM 656 diesel engine which also does duty in the facelifted S-Class.
The civilian version launched in 1979 and overtime saw numerous changes to the original design before the second generation version debuted in 2018. Over 3 lakh have been made.
