Toyota Innova and Fortuner refresh priced at Rs 10.38 lakh and Rs 24.17 lakh

Toyota has opened sales of the updated Innova and Fortuner in India at Rs 10.38 lakh and Rs 24.17 lakh ex-Mumbai. While this is not the all-new Innova and Fortuner based on the TNGA platform, these are stop gap measures until the all new cars arrive sometime next year.

Changes to the Innova include dark grey dual-tone alloys, wood finish steering wheel, redesigned leather seats, oak interior colour as well as standard dual airbags. The Innova still comes with a 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine which makes 102PS of power and 200Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and Toyota claims that the Innova delivers a fuel efficiency of 13.31kmpl.

The Fortuner in the meanwhile gets smoked headlamps, 12-spoke dark grey alloys, silver bezel for the front fog lamps, all-black interiors and touchscreen DVD display. On the engine front, the Fortuner now gets a new 2.5-litre diesel motor which is good for 144PS and 343Nm. The Fortuner 2.5 is available with an automatic as well as manual transmission but only with two-wheel drive mode. The 4x4 Fortuner also gets a 5-speed automatic variant and is available with the more powerful 171PS 3.0-litre diesel motor which is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 11.50kmpl. As with the Innova, the Fortuner also gets dual airbags as standard. Toyota is now the only manufacturer in the country to have dual airbags as standard across its range.
