2015 Porsche Cayenne GTS unveiled
Porsche is a on a launching spree for vehicles with its iconic GTS badge and its latest offering is the Cayenne GTS. Based on the new Cayenne that was shown at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the 2015 Cayenne GTS gets a sportier body kit, a front bumper that comes from the Cayenne Turbo, darkened taillights and black colour treatment for the wheels, quad exhaust pipes, headlight apertures and badging. The Cayenne GTS sits 24mm lower with the new steel-spring suspension (20mm lower on the optional air suspension). The suspension unit is mated to the Porsche Active Suspension Management damping system for sporty dynamics.
Powering the Cayenne GTS is the new 3.6-litre biturbo V6 petrol engine that replaces the V8 mill with better power and fuel economy. Compared to the latter's 420PS and 515Nm output, the new engine puts out 440PS and 600Nm. The engine enables the Cayenne GTS to sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 5.2s (5.1s with launch control), which is half a second quicker than the outgoing model. The SUV can reach a top speed of 262kmph. Stopping power comes from the same pair of 390/358mm (F/R) disc brakes that do duty in the Cayenne Turbo.
The new Porsche Cayenne is expected to come to India by December 2014 or early 2015 and we expect the GTS model to be made available soon afterwards.
