2014 Royal Enfield Rider Mania gets even bigger
The three-day Royal Enfield Rider Mania returned to Vagator, Goa and it was the biggest edition yet with over 5000 participants. Rider Mania is a festival that is a celebration of camaraderie, music and most importantly, motorcycles built by Royal Enfield.
As per tradition, Rider Mania has a medley of events, both competitive and general fun. Among the the competitive events, the dirt track race is the most popular. Riders turn up with specially tuned machines to take on the dirt. This year the winner was special guest and Isle of Mann TT legend Guy Martin who took the top spot riding a Bullet 500. Rohan Patil won the 350cc category while Urvashi Patole won the ladies category and Shyam won the trails event.
Another event that sees equally tough competition is the custom bike competition that sees entries ranging from beautiful to outrageous. In this event, awards are based on 2 categories Best Custom Bike (Judges Category) and the Most Popular category based on votes. This year the winner of the Best Custom Bike went to Gunner 540 from Bulleteer Customs and the Most Popular Custom Bike went to Squadron from Road Rage Customs.
Rider Mania also played host to various workshops by riders who have traveled the world on two wheels. This year Jonathan Gibson who is riding from Sydney to London on a 1969 Royal Enfield was among those who shared their experience.
