2013 Audi R8 launched in India
Audi India has rolled out its 2013 R8 supercar here. Available in three versions, Audi has priced the 2013 R8 at Rs 1.34crore for the V8 coupe, Rs 1.57crore for the V10 and Rs 1.73crore for the V10 Spyder, ex-Delhi. As was the case before, the new R8 comes with a choice of two engines, the 430PS V8 and the 525PS V10. Both the engines are now mated to a new 7-speed S-tronic box in place of the 6-speed single clutch R-tronic. Audi claims that the new gearbox helps improve the R8's acceleration by 0.3 per cent.
The facelifted R8 gets an all-LED ensemble at the front and rear. There is a redesigned diffuser with large round tail pipes. The rear lights incorporate dynamic turn signals, which run from the inside out in the direction the car is headed to. The interiors boast of optional optional honeycomb-quilted Fine Nappa full-leather package, with quilted seat covers and door liner inserts.
At the launch of the new R8, Michael Perschke,head, Audi India said, "Our outstanding performance in 2012 established Audi as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India and this successful run will continue this year too. 2013 is a critical year for Audi in India and we will see the announcement of several initiatives on the product and network front. First month of 2013 already saw the launch of new Audi Q5 and I am confident that with the launch of this new Audi R8 we will further consolidate our leadership position in the super sports car segment in India."
