2012 Zero S bike launched in North America
American manufacturer Zero Motorcycles has launched the Zero S as part of its 2012 line-up. The Zero S is an all-electric motorcycle which the manufacturer claims is capable of covering upto 160km on a single charge, and also has enough juice to hit speeds in excess of 140kmph. The new Z-Force power pack that the Zero S uses is capable of 3000 charging cycles, is said to last the lifetime of the bike, and can be recharged in less than four hours.
The new powertrain gets an air cooled system to keep it operating at moderate temperatures.The 2012 Zero S bike is available in two power configurations, the 6 and 9kWh. A double diamond rear swing arm and a custom rear shock with a fully adjustable spring preload ensure that the handling and ride characteristics match.
