The most hyped and talked about sports car for 2012, the Jaguar F-Type, has been finally unveiled in production form at the Paris Motor Show. Featuring a rakish convertible profile, the all-aluminium F-Type carries over from where the E-Type left off, Jaguar's first new sports car in more than 50 years. The two-seater is available in three trims mainly depending on the engine configuration, the base F-Type, F-Type S and the V8 S. Three engines options are on offer: a 340/380PS 3.0-litre supercharged V6 and a 495PS supercharged 5.0-litre V8. All the engines, as of now, will be mated to an 8-speed automatic ZF transmission. The most powerful of all these engines, the 5.0-litre V8 promises a performance of 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds.

Weighing in just less than 1600kg, the rear-wheel drive F-Type sports a 50:50 weight distribution. The more powerful S will have the mechanical limited-slip differential and the V8 S in the meanwhile makes use of an e-differential which has a servo that varies the lockup on the clutch pack based on the driving conditions.

We will let the hi-res pictures do the talking now!
