Audi has unveiled its Crosslane Coupe Concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The company says that it is a crossover, convertible and coupe all at one go. A 177PS 3-cylinder 1.5-litre petrol motor in combination with two electric motors powers the coupe concept. Audi claims a 0-100kmph run of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 180kmph, with 109.18kmpl fuel efficiency to boot for. With just the electric motor propelling it, the Crosslane Coupe will cover a distance of 85km before the petrol engine kicks in. Till speeds of 55kmph, the larger electric motor works and post that, the entire powertrain works in tandem till 128kmph. Speeds above that are solely handled by the petrol motor, with the smaller electric motor providing a boost if required.

Quite a bit of exotic materials have been used for the construction of the Crosslane Coupe Concept with fibreglass-reinforced polymer, aluminium and carbon fiber-reinforced polymers. All this has resulted in the concept weighing just 1390kg. This and a movable boot which at the press of a button shifts 40cm ahead or back depending on the requirement. Audi have used semi-aniline leather for the upholstery. The vehicle floor is made from glass fibre-reinforced polymer.
