130PS Mahindra XUV300 TGDi Sportz leaked ahead of debut

A video has appeared online revealing the new more powerful turb0-petrol Mahindra XUV300. This performance-themed variant of the XUV300 was first showcased at the last Auto Expo where it was called the Sportz although it is yet to be seen what Mahindra calls it in production form. The new compact SUV is expected to launch in India in the coming weeks.

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz engine, specifications

The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz is expected to feature the new 1.2-litre TGDi mStallion petrol motor from the same family as seen in the XUV700 and Scorpio-N. The motor is expected to put out 130PS and 213 Nm. This is 20PS and 13 Nm more than the current turbo-petrol XUV300.

This should also make the XUV300 the most potent combustion-engined compact SUV in the country. The XUV300 is expected to be paired with a six-speed manual and possibly a six-speed AMT. The diesel XUV300 makes 115PS and 300 Nm from a 1.5-litre mHawk motor.

The new Mahindra XUV300 has also been marginally spruced up inside and out. There is a new gold colour option as well as red highlights on the new grille and front airdam. On the inside, there is now an all-black colour scheme with silver or gold highlights.

The new motor should be available on the higher-spec variants of the XUV300 and get features like sunroof, connected-tech, dual-zone climate control, steering modes, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, leatherette upholstery, auto headlamps and wipers, among other things.

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz price, launch date

The Mahindra XUV300 should launch in India in the next weeks within the festive season. Expect it to be priced about Rs 50,000 to 70,000 over an equivalent petrol variant. Prices for the XUV300 start from Rs 8.41 lakh to Rs 13.42 lakh ex-showroom.
