Yangwang U9 Xtreme is the world's fastest car, clocks 496 kmph
Yangwang U9 Xtreme clocks 496 kmph and thus making it the world's fastest production car in the world. The record was made at the ATP Automotive Testing Papenburg test track in Germany. The feat was achieved with YANGWANG's latest U9 Xtreme hypercar and on September 14 the car achieved a feat of 304.1 mph (489.4 kmph) which was a feat held by the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+.
Highlights
- Beats Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+
- A top speed of 496 kmph
- A 1200V high voltage architecture
- Four electric motors spinning at 30,000 rpm and pushing a combined output of 3,000 PS
The U9 Xtreme or the U9X uses a 1,200V high-voltage system (instead of the usual 800V), a lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery with a discharge rate of 30C, four ultra-high-speed motors that that operate at up to 30,000rpm and produce a total of more than 3000 PS of power.
The car rides on track-level semi-slick tyres and the suspension setup includes revised DiSus-X suspension with specific tuning to cope with the increased stresses of circuit driving. The chassis balance and aerodynamics have been tweaked to make the car stable at speeds beyond 300 mph (482.9 kmph).
The Yangwang U9 Xtreme will be available for customers and the production capacity is set to just 30 units. And the name of the hypercar is derived from the English word 'Extreme' which means 'limit' and 'ultimate', with an added emphasis on the X.
