Yamaha India launch three new models - YZR-R15 v4, Aerox 155 and Ray-ZR Fi-hybrid
Yamaha YZF-R15 version 4 and YZF-R15M:
The fourth iteration of the YZF-R15 makes its global debut with India today and has a styling inspired by the recently unveiled Yamaha YZF-R7, featuring a centrally mounted single projector headlamp, flanked by slim LED daytime running lamps. The bigger news for the new Yamaha YZF-R15 is the upside-down forks, a traction control system and revised dash that's inspired in its layout from the YZR-M1 and has Street and Track display modes. The R15 now also comes with a new variant - the YZF-R15M, which features a new pearl white colour (not the 60th-anniversary edition scheme) paired with blue wheels, and a different rear cowl. It also gets a quick-shifter, which can be retrofitted as an accessory on the R15 v4 (standard also on the racing blue colour). The YZF-R15 v4 continues to weigh 142kg and has the same BSVI 155cc engine as the R15 v3. The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission with a slip and assist clutch. The new R15 is available in four colours - the white on the R15M (Rs 1.78 lakh), and a black (Rs 1.69 lakh), red (1.68 lakh) or blue (Rs 1.73 lakh) on the standard variant.
Aerox 155
The Aerox 155 is targeted at those who want the performance of the R15's engine with the convenience of a twist-and-go. The Aerox 155 is a maxi-scooter that is powered by the same 155cc engine as the YZF-R15, but with an automatic gearbox. The Aerox 155 puts out 14.9 PS @ 8000 rpm and a torque of 13.8 Nm @ 6250 rpm. The Aerox is built on an undertone chassis and is suspended by twin shock-absorbers at the rear and telescopic forks at the front. It rides on wide 110/80-14 and 140/70-14 tyres at the front and rear respectively. The Aerox comes with a large negative-LCD cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, 24.5l under-seat storage, but has a tiny 4.6l fuel tank. The Aerox 155 is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh and is available in two colour options - blue and red/black.
Ray-ZR Fi Hybrid
The Ray-ZR has been updated for 2021 with minor revisions and the hybrid tech is standard across the range. The RayZR now gets LED headlamps as a standard fit on the disc brake variants. It also has subtle styling revisions that make it look a bit more rugged with the brushed metal inserts. The Yamaha ConnectX Bluetooth module comes standard on the 2021 RayZR. The prices for the 2021 RayZR range between Rs 76,830 to Rs 83,830.
