Vida DIRT.E K3 Electric Youth Motorcycle launched at Rs 69,990

The Hero Vida DIRT.E K3 has been launched at Rs 69,990 and it is exclusively designed for young riders aged 4-10.

The DIRT.E K3 uses a 360 Wh battery that powers a hub mounted motor that pushes 500 W. The company claims a top speed of 23-25 kmph for the Pro ride mode, there are two more ride modes - Beginner and Amateur with 7-8 kmph and 16-17 kmph top speed respectively. It uses a removable battery pack and full charge is capable of a run time of up to three hours, subjective to the terrain and riding style.

The party trick is the three-position adjustment mechanism, this system allows the seat height and wheelbase to be adjusted as the rider grows. It can be switched between small, medium and large according to the size of the rider. Which means that the bike keeps offering new levels to conquer and it can be used for years before finally being disposed.

The seat height offered starts from 454 mm, which is the small size, 544 mm is medium and 631 mm is the large size. It also gets a rear disc brake of 160 mm. The throttle control is also used by the thumb instead of a conventional wrist throttle setup. And the bike tips the scales at just 22 kg.

Considering the product is designed categorically for kids, the brand has incorporated several safety measure to add to the peace of mind of parents. One can access a dedicated app to set speed limits, lock riding modes, and monitor the riding session. Other safety measures include a smaller brake lever, emergency cutoff tether, reinforced wiring to name a few.

The bike will be manufactured at the Tirupati plant in Andhra Pradesh and the first phase of deliveries include cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi, Jaipur and Calicut.
