Triumph officially teases the upcoming Tiger Sport 660
A picture from a dealer presentation surfaced late last year, revealing that the new Triumph Trident 660 will have two siblings in the form of an adventure bike and an adventure-sports tourer. Triumph has recently released photos of the bikes that have been disguised for a while now.
Triumph has unveiled a series of camouflaged photos of the forthcoming Tiger Sport 660. Regardless, there are several details to be discovered. The bike has a large fuel tank, hefty radiator shrouds, a large windscreen, and sleek dual LED headlights, which are the most noticeable features.
A larger single-piece seat and what seems to be a tall and wide handlebar are also added to the bike. The sitting ergonomics will almost certainly be upright and sporty.
The Tiger Sport 660 appears to use the same black Showa USD fork as the Trident 660 in the pictures. The Tiger Sport is expected to feature greater suspension travel than the Trident, however, it is unclear if the suspension will be adjustable.
The wheels have the same 17-inch diameter on both ends and are covered in Michelin Road 5 rubber, indicating that this motorbike prefers tarmac. The tubular steel frame looks to be the same, but the bike may have a redesigned rear subframe and a swingarm that differs from the Trident's.
The Tiger Sport 660 looks to share the Triumph Trident 660's 660cc three-cylinder engine. This engine produces 82PS and has a smooth, linear power delivery, making it a good match for the Tiger Sport 660. The Tiger Sport, like the Trident 660, will include a six-speed gearbox and a bi-directional fast shifter, but it's unclear if this will be an optional feature or a standard feature.
The Tiger Sport 660 should launch in India in the early months of 2022, with pricing expected to range between Rs 7.5-8.3 lakh ex-showroom. The more inexpensive, but ageing Kawasaki Versys 650 and the more costly Suzuki V-Strom 650 will be the Tiger Sport's closest competitors at this price.
