India will not only be the main market for the upcoming SUV but will also serve as a key export hub for the model. The vehicle will enter the highly competitive sub-compact SUV segment, where it will rival models such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Powertrains

The production Bridger will be built on Renault's R-GMP platform. The company has designed the platform to support multiple powertrain options. As a result, the SUV could be offered with petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains in the future, although detailed specifications are yet to be announced.

Design

The Bridger Concept previews a bold and rugged design. At the front, the SUV features illuminated 'Renault' lettering placed on a large black panel. It also gets sharp, blade-style LED lighting and a sculpted skid plate finished in black. The concept rides on large square-pattern alloy wheels and has chunky wheel-arch cladding that adds to its muscular stance.

Along the side, the SUV has a slightly tapering window line and rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar, giving it a clean profile. At the back, the design stands out with sharp LED tail lamps and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate, reinforcing its rugged look.

Interior

Renault has not revealed the interior of the concept yet. However, the company says that the production version of the Bridger will focus on offering a spacious cabin. The SUV is expected to provide around 350-400 litres of boot space, which should make it practical for everyday use.

Renault also claims that the model will deliver best-in-class interior room, with generous knee room and adequate headroom for passengers. This should result in a comfortable cabin experience for occupants.

Local production of the SUV is expected to begin in India in 2027, with the model likely to be launched around the same time. When it arrives, the Renault Bridger is expected to be priced between Rs 7 lakh and Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
