MG Motor India gain over 51 percent sales in August 2021

MG Motor India sold 4315 units in August 2021, up more than 51 percent over the same time the previous year.

Since its introduction, MG's ZS EV has registered the highest-ever reservations of over 700 vehicles. The improved conversion rate of inquiries from both walk-ins and digital sources at MG showrooms reflects a return to normalcy in customer buying behaviour and attitude.

Rakesh Sidana, Director-Sales, MG Motor India, said, "The higher momentum has continued for all our three models. We are witnessing busy dealerships, eagerly seeking more inventory. However, the severe shortage of chips is expected to continue till the end of the year, leading to production constraints. We expect manufacturing in September to be severely impacted, which will be lower than August. We are trying our best to mobilize global resources to enhance the pace of production to meet customer demand during the festival season."

Ever since MG stormed into the Indian market in 2017, they have introduced a number of firsts in class such as the MG Hector, India's first Internet SUV and the MG ZS EV, India's first electric internet SUV. At present, MG Motors state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Halol, Gujarat, employs over 2,500 people and has an annual production capacity of 80,000 automobiles.
