Mahindra XEV 9S Launched at 19.95 lakh.
Mahindra has launched the XEV 9S, calling it India's first authentic electric origin 7-seater SUV built on the company's successful INGLO platform. The much-awaited 9S marks Mahindra's ambitious push into mainstream electric mobility in the country.
The XEV 9S debuts with the tag line of "India's Big New Electric," and emphasises generous cabin space, a quiet and refined driving experience and a tech-rich environment powered by Mahindra's advanced automotive intelligence system MAIA. Mahindra claims that the SUV has been designed for families, travellers, and creators who need more space than typical EVs offer.
R. Veluswamy, President of Automotive Business at Mahindra and Mahindra, said that the SUV aims to expand human possibility by delivering unmatched space and refinement, and emphasised space as "luxury."
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the Automotive Division, added that the XEV 9S intends to reimagine categories and not just electrify vehicles, marking the beginning of a new era for Mahindra's EV strategy.
Design & Features
Designed under Mahindra's Heartcore philosophy, the XEV 9S carries an athletic yet minimalistic exterior with clean surfaces, a premium gloss finish, and a spacious and lit cabin.
Mahindra is positioning the XEV 9S as the biggest electric SUV in its class with practical features that make it stand out. The XEV 9S comes with 4076 litres of cabin space across front and second rows, u to 527 litre boot space, a 150 litre frunk (best in segment) and 50:50 split third row. Mahindra is also making the 9S appealing to people who like being chauffeured with a second row "Boss Mode," ventilated seats, sliding and recline functions and an openable sunroof for superior refinement.
Performance and Range
The XEV 9S is being offered with three battery pack options of 58 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh. The highlight however is the new 70 kWh unit which promises a 500 km real-world range. Power outputs go up to 285 PS (210 kW) while the torque peaks at 380 Nm.
The 9S goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and has a top speed of 202 km/h, making it the fastest 7-seater electric SUV in its price bracket
Tech & Safety
The XEV 9S will sport Intelligent Adaptive Suspension, Brake-by-wire with IEB, Variable-ratio high-power steering and Multiple drive modes including Range, Race and Everyday.
The XEV 9S comes with level 2+ ADAS, using 5 radars, a vision camera, lane-centering emergency steering assist, driver-initiated auto lane change, and cross-traffic alerts. The top variant includes 7 airbags, including a driver knee airbag.
Inside, the SUV packs three 31.24 cm screens, 5G connectivity, over 140 connected features, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos. Features like VisionX AR HUD, DOMS driver monitoring, AutoPark Assist, dual wireless charging, and ambient lighting with 16 million colours headline the tech suite
Variants, Pricing and Dates
Mahindra will offer the XEV 9S in six variants, with a price range of 19.95 lakh for the Pack One Above to 29.45 lakh(ex-showroom) for the Pack Three Above. The test drives begin from Jan 5, 2026 followed by the bookings that will open on Jan 14, 2026 and finally deliveries to start from Jan 23, 2026
