Mahindra Thar ROXX STAR EDN
Mahindra has expanded its lifestyle SUV portfolio with the launch of the Thar ROXX STAR EDN (Read Edition), a new, design-focused variant positioned as a more premium offering within the Thar ROXX range.
The Thar ROXX STAR EDN intervenes in the variant list to add a layer of visual distinction to the existing model, while the mechanical underpinnings remain the same.
Exterior updates include a piano black front grille and matching 19-inch piano black alloy wheels. Mahindra has also introduced a new Citrine Yellow shade as the hero colour, alongside existing options such as Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black. The yellow colour is making a comeback on Indian vehicles, and it's a welcome change, I presume.
Inside, the star edition features an all-black leatherette upholstery with suede accents, aimed at enhancing the cabin ambience. The variant continues to offer features such as front ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen infotainment system with connected car technology, a digital instrument cluster, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Safety equipment includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, TPMS, and advanced driver-assistance features.
Powertrain options remain unchanged. The Thar ROXX STAR EDN is available with the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol G20 TGDi engine, paired with an automatic transmission, and the 2.2-litre D22 mHawk diesel engine, paired with manual and automatic transmission options. Both engines are offered exclusively with a rear-wheel-drive layout in this edition.
The introductory ex-showroom price starts at ?16.85 lakh and goes up to 18.35 lakh.
