Lamborghini Urus turns 4 years old with record-breaking success

The Lamborghini Urus Super SUV is commemorating four years after its international debut on December 4, 2017, at the Lamborghini headquarters in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

With the Urus, Lamborghini's sales, turnover and profitability have reached unprecedented levels in the brand's history over the last four years, with turnover increasing by 40 percent from just over Euros 1 billion to Euros1.4 billion in 2018, the year sales of the car began, peaking at Euros 1.81 billion in 2019 and Euros 1.61 billion in 2020, the year of the company's record profitability.

Lamborghini's overall surge in worldwide sales as a result of the Urus is even more spectacular, with 8,205 Lamborghinis delivered to consumers in 2019, more than double the volume attained before the SUV's launch.

From 2018 through the end of 2021, a total of 16,000 Urus were delivered globally, making the Super SUV the best-selling vehicle in the company's history over four years. The Urus is sold in every part of the globe, with 85% of consumers being first-time buyers.

Due to the Urus's sales success, Lamborghini expanded its Sant'Agata Bolognese production facility, expanding it from 80,000 to 160,000 square metres with the addition of a new facility and paint shop, as well as a new finishing department, test track, new logistics warehouse, a second trigeneration plant and an energy hub.

Powered by a 650PS 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine delivering 850 Nm of torque, the Urus can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 305 kmph.

In 2021, the Urus reached the world's highest motorable road, more than 5,800 metres above sea level, at the summit of the Umling La Pass in India's Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir, surpassing even the Mount Everest base camp.

The Lamborghini Urus costs from Rs 3.10 crore in India (ex-showroom).
