Kia Seltos facelift bookings underway as Kia India celebrate 1 million vehicle roll-out

Kia India marked the historic milestone of delivering one million automobiles from its production plant in Anantapur today by delivering the first unit of its newest invention, the new Seltos. This event also marks the start of manufacturing for New Seltos. Also, As of today, Kia India has also started accepting pre-orders for the facelifted Kia Seltos for a token amount of Rs 25,000.

Kia Seltos facelift

The new Seltos has an updated design, 32 safety features, including the most sophisticated Level 2 ADAS with 17 functions, and much-anticipated amenities such as a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of variants, the three trim levels are further divided into HTE, HTK, HTK Plus, HTX, HTX Plus, GTX Plus, and X Line. The Seltos facelift comes in Pewter Olive, Sparkling Silver, Clear White, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, and Glacier White colours. The latter two are also available in Aurora Black Pearl dual-tone colour schemes. Furthermore, the Seltos facelift receives six distinct interior themes and seat upholstery options.

Kia has also included its new 160PS and 253Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with this upgrade. The new engine will be paired with either a 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 115PS, 144Nm, 1.5-litre petrol engine and the 116PS, 250Nm, 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine will remain in the Seltos facelift. The former will be available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission, while the latter will be available with a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Given the massive amount of changes, we expect the facelifted Seltos to fetch a significant premium over the previous model, which was priced from Rs 10.89 lakh. The Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the future Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross will all compete with the Seltos facelift.

Kia India: 10 lakh vehicles sold

Kia entered the Indian market in August 2019 with the debut of the Seltos, which rapidly became one of India's favourite SUV brands. It reached the astonishing milestone of 500,000 sales in a record time of 46 months.

Kia's product line was increased further in 2020 with the Carnival and Sonet, followed by the Carens and EV6 in 2022, consolidating its dominance in the Indian market. So far, the state-of-the-art Kia plant in Anantapur has produced over 532,450 Seltos, followed by 3,32,450 Sonets, 1,20,516 Carens, and 14, 584 Carnivals.
