This year the two major launches that happened from Hyundai India were the new-gen Elantra and the Tucson. Both of which are one of the most impressive offerings in their own respective segments. In 2017, Hyundai would be continuing the momentum of launches with the new Grand i10, Xcent and the Verna. The 2017 Verna was unveiled in China at the Chengdu Motor Show. It is expected to arrive in India by either June or July 2017.
The updated Hyundai Verna is based on the concept which was revealed at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show in April. The 2017 Hyundai Verna is larger than the outgoing model as it has a length of 4,380mm (+5mm), width of 1,728mm (+28mm) and height of 1,460mm (+75mm). The wheelbase will be retained at 2,570mm. It features design cues from the Hyundai Elantra. The interior too shares several design elements with the Elantra, including the infotainment system which comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and finally looks up to date with its rivals.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna was launched in China with two petrol powertrains  a 100PS 1.4-litre and a 123PS 1.6-litre units. In India, it is expected to get the same petrol units along with the current 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines. While there is no confirmation but it has been speculated that Hyundai will equip the new Verna with a mild hybrid system which will work in the same manner as that on the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz hybrid.
The 2017 Hyundai Verna will compete will the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, updated Honda City and the Volkswagen Vento. We expect the prices of the 2017 Hyundai Verna to be around Rs 15,000-20,000 more than the current model. Here are the images of the 2017 India-bound Hyundai Verna.
