Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is almost ready for its debut on July 13

Hyundai is testing the capabilities of the Ioniq 5 N at the Nurburgring track in Germany ahead of its official premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 13. Hyundai has tested the Ioniq 5 N for 10,000 kilometres under harsh endurance circumstances and expects to test it for another 10,000 kilometres before releasing it to the public. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will be the company's first all-electric high-performance vehicle.

Hyundai has not yet released details on the new Ioniq 5 N. It has been established, however, that this performance-oriented electric crossover would receive several improvements over the ordinary model. Hyundai has increased the cooling space of the Ioniq 5 N's cooling system.

The former will aid in battery temperature optimization and will have two modes: Drag and Track. The N Race will also have two modes: Sprint and Endurance, which will change how power is delivered to limit temperature build-up.

The bigger 400mm disc brakes of the Ioniq 5 N are constructed of lightweight material and built with optimized airflow for cooling. The brand's N Active Sound, which comprises of a 10-speaker system with three different sound themes named Ignition, Evolution, and Supersonic, will also be available.

Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand & Motorsport at Hyundai Motor Company said "The Nürburgring is where every N model is honed to the Nth degree, so our first high-performance, all-electric N model must also prove itself here. Ioniq 5 N just completed its 10,000 km durability test on the Nordschleife, which is an important milestone that proves the vehicle's high endurance and racetrack capability. And yet, we just began our second 10,000 km test to push Ioniq 5 N's limits."

The standard Ioniq 5 is powered by a 72.6kWh battery pack linked to a rear-axle mounted electric motor that delivers 217PS and 350Nm. It promises an ARAI-certified range of 631km. The car is priced at Rs 45.95 lakh.
